Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety and Appliances (CCN1)
The CCN1 can either be taken either as a reassessment for engineers requiring renewal, or as an initial assessment for engineers new to the gas industry.
In order to operate as a gas engineer you need to be ACS accredited.
You must also hold the relevant appliance qualifications relating to the work you wish to carry out as an engineer. Appliance qualifications cost £130 each. Click view course details for more information.

Unvented hot water
The hot water systems and safety course is aimed at experience plumbing and heating operatives who require a qualification in installation, servicing and maintenance of domestic hot water systems.
WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme)
WRAS covers the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (England and Wales) and the Water Byelaws 2014 (Scotland) and meet the requirements of WRAS (the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) of which the majority of the UK water companies are members.

It’s designed for qualified engineers who want to do some refresher training to aid them in preparation for ACS or course renewal.

Is a non-accredited course designed to enable operatives to be aware of the dangers of legionella and to enable them to carry out point of use testing of water.
We are able to set up and run training courses to meet the needs of the customer, focusing on a specific topic for individual or multiple operatives

Managed learning programme for gas
This programme of gas training, portfolio placement and ACS assessment is for New Entrants looking to access the gas industry.
In partnership with national property services business Liberty, the Liberate Academy can offer a work placement for all students on this course, enabling you to complete the Gas Foundation MLP, accredited by BlueFlame.

Frequently asked questions
In order to operate as a gas engineer you need to be accredited and to become a member of the Gas Safe Register.
Gas Safe status is a requirement for all gas installers in the UK and you’ll not be able to join the Register until you’ve gained the appropriate qualifications.
Once you’ve gained your qualifications you will need to renew some of them every five years to retain your Gas Safe status and stay up to date with the latest regulations.
